DESCRIPTION:
E. Howard & Co., Boston, "REGULATOR No. 7", figure 8 wall clock, C.1880, in a black walnut case, 8-day, time, weight driven.
CONDITION:
the case was refinished some time ago and with nice patina. The lower tablet is properly replaced. As with some of the 2s and 3s, this never had a hole in the case back to hold the mov't, rather is held in with two brass tabs [original], and a thin wood spacer under the mov't. The original dial is excellent {one miniscule flake on edge of IIII} as is the original pendulum, still with bright gilding, and the damasc pattern bob still with original lacquer. Case retains original Howard label with minor losses. Large iron weight is marked with a "2", appropriate for 'second' size fig 8. An exceptional No. 7. Ht 50"
